Muldowney Piano Studio

An elite piano studio centered in Richmond, Virginia.

The Muldowney Studio is dedicated to teaching the art of the piano to students in the Richmond area. We are open to students of all ages who are dedicated, enthusiastic, and hard-working. Students have the opportunity to perform several times a year and participate in local and national competitions.

Bio

Renowned pianist, vocalist, and educator Barbara Muldowney teaches in Glen Allen, Virginia.



About Barbara Muldowney

Barbara Muldowney, Master Teacher, is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree. She has taught piano and voice for over 40 years.

Barbara began her study of piano at age 4, under the tutelage of Gates Wray, a prominent Julliard instructor and student of the famous concert pianist Vladimir Horowitz. Early in her career, she performed extensively in the NY area, Michigan, and Illinois; she also toured Scandinavia, performing for the Queen of Denmark. Barbara sang with the Eastman Chorale under the baton of the famous Robert DeCormier, and her vocal credentials include recording commericals for radio.

Barbara Muldowney was inducted into the National Piano Guild Hall of Fame in 2018, in recognition of her mentoring of numerous Guild Diploma winners over many years. Her students have won local and national awards, earning placement on the National Guild Honor Roll for over 25 years.
